QR-10, 2 March 2019, Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hami Aksoy, in Response to a Question Regarding the US State Department statement on the continuation of PKK’s listing as a Terrorist Organization
The US State Department announced that the PKK, designated by the US as a terrorist organization since 1997, will continue to remain on the Foreign Terrorist Organizations List.
We attach importance to the US State Department's emphasis on commitment to the fight against PKK in its statement. It is our expectation that our ally, the US will also adopt the same approach towards PKK's regional extensions PYD/YPG.
